School Committee Elections
OTAUTAU,
More interest was evinced m the election of a school committee last night than has evidenced itself m Otautau m connect on with school matters for the past 10 years.
I ully 40 householders were m attendance, and there were 16 nominations for the 7 vacancies on the committee.
*■• With tbe exception of Messrs W. E. Robertshaw and John Swap, all the newly-elected members represent fresh blood.
The following 7 members were elected : — Votes. E. Harrington ... 26 W. E. Robertshaw ... 23 W. Saundera ... 16 J. J. B>yd ... 16 J. Swap '... 15 G. H. Stevens ... 14 B. Steubouße ... 12 Uther nominations were : Mjssrs Hardy, Dencker, Macnamara, Bui nan, Cowan, Gordon, Dickaon, E. Glen and Brown. At a subssquont meeting Mr Saunders was ;ipp )in led chairman and Mr Stevens secrt't'iry. The new -onauittee start with rifair credit balance.
