CORONATION NOTES
March 10. Although New Zealand has declined the invitation to send eight M.P.6 to attend the Coronation as guests of the members ot the Imperial Parliament, it is hoped that a way out of the difficulty will yet be found, and that the Dominion will not be unrepresented. Lord Rcsebcry is chairman of the Executive Committee, on which both Houses and members of all parties are represented. In addition there will be a large general committee of members of both Houses, including the Speaker of the House of Commons. The proposal to invite representatives from the Overseas Parliaments has been very favorably received at Westminster, I hear, and members are showing a keen interest and a general desire to take part m arranging for the entertainment of the visitors. After the Coronation ceremonies, the colonial M.P.s will be taken round the country for a week or so, and shown some of the chief industrial and historical centres of Great Britain. While m London they will be housed at the Waldorf Hotel.
The Victoria League intend to entertain colonial visitors who come to London for tho Coronation, and Mrs Churnside, of Wirreby Park, Victoria, who is a member of the Hospitality Committee of the League, has undertaken to look after the entertainment of New Zealand visitors other than those officially representnig the Dominions.
The Imperial Cadet Association, of which Field Marshal Earl Roberts is president, are making arrangements with the Council of the Festival of Empire to hold an Imperial Cadets' camp m the grounds of the Crystal Palace during the summer. A hundred cadets aTe invited, twenty-five each from Australia, Canada, South Africa, and New Zealand. Each party will be m the charge of an officer, and the commandant of the camp will be Colonel Sir William Watts, K.C.B. The Imperial Cadets will be the guests of the Festival of Empire during their stay of at least six weeks. They will hold a military camp of instruction, and will also form guards of honor when required, and will take part m the Coronation festivities. There is no doubt that this unique visit of cadets from Overseas Dominions will arouse the widest interest m Great Britain.
