OTAUTAU HORSE SALE.

The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company Limited report having held their monthly horse .sale on Friday, 15th Deoember, at Otautau, as follows :— Quality rather than quantity was represented at the above sale, about a score of horses coming forward for auction the majority, however being composed of good sorts 4, 5 and 6-year-old, Of these the following is an index of the prinoipal sales made on account of : — Mr J, Devanney, one bay gelding 7 years L 4 2; J. Findlay, two hay geldings 6 years L 42 and L4l 10s ; R. Cupples, one chestnut gelding 4 years L 4 4; G. Clarke, one black gelding 5 years L4l los ; P, Fahey one bay mare 4 years L 43. Aged draughts however were m Black demand and hard to quit at from L2O to L 29. i 'The idea of buyers and vendors of light horses did not agree m the majority of oases, conseguentlv only a lew changed hands.

London, 12th Deo. 190. The $Tew Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agenoy Company Limited have received the following cable from their London Office dated 12th inst: — We quote present spot 1 values for the following descriptions of tallow : Fine mutton 30s, good beef 275, mixed 255: Market quiet. We quote spot ex granary per 4961bs Longborried wheat 31s 3d, Short&Wrried3ofl 3d."
