Winton Brass Band Contest.

The tenth annual contest, held under the auppices of the Otago and Southland Brass - Bande' Association, at Winton, on Wednesday and Thursday last, was attended by a I large gathering of visitors from all parts of Southland. The w uther was fine, and the proceedings rere mo-t successfully carried ou . Nine bands oompsted m the contest: — i Gore, Balclutha, Tuapeka, Winton, AlexI andra, Milton, Nightcaps, Bluff and Wyndham. Eiverton Band did not attend.
