Christchurch, S' pt. 20. Prices for fat stock were generally higher, beef showing a sharp rise. Fat Bheep were firmer, The entries were small.
Store Sheep — Only" aiew odd lots of store sheep were offered, mostly inferior. Hoggetd brought 18s to 16s 9d, aged ewes and lambs, lis 3d to 9s 7d.
Fat Lambs.— About 20 new season's sold at 21s to 265, smaller at 14s.
Fat Sheep.— The sale opened at improved rates, but eased somewhat later. Pr'me wethers 24s to 27s— extra to 295, others 21s to 233 6d, prime ewea 25s to 27s 6d, medium 19s to 225.
Fat Cattle. — 110 yarded, the bulk useful steers. The short supply caused a sharp rise, prime beef selling at 255. ,to 27s 6d and n some cases a little... over, medium quality 21s to 23s per 1001 b. Steers £8 15s to £13 15s, neifers, £5 7s 6d to £7, cows £4 5s to £9.
Store Cattle. — 16 to 18-month? brought 31s, two-year steers 37s 6d, do heifers 119s, dry cows 33s to 555,' dairy do mostly popr sorts frorri £4 to £d.
Pigs. — A large yarding. Heavy- bacorters 40s to 47s 6d, lighter 32s lo 38s, cq!:nl to 3Jd to 3}d per lb, porkers 26s to 355, equal to 4d to 4_d, large stores 22s 6d to 30s medium 15s to 225, weaners 6s to 12d 6d.
