Wedding at Nightcaps.
(From our own correspondent).
Our township was all aglow with excitement ou Wednesday last, when it became known that a double wedding was to take place m the Presbyterian Church, at 11 o'clock. The fair sex turned out m great force. The day being an ideal one, numbers who arrived late, had to be satisfied with standing room. The contracting parties were Miss Jennie Dempster and Mr Wm. South,, Miss Tinker and Alex. Messrs George Tomlinson and Jno. Dempster acted as best men respectivaly. Miss Jeannie Dempster, the bride, wore a fawn dress with cream silk trimmings. Miss Tinker was dressed m blue cashmere, with white Bilk trimmings. Each wore an orange blossom veil, and carried bouquets. The bridesmaids were Miss M. Dempster, brown dress, oream silk trimmings, hat to match, and Miss Nellie Lee, white dress, hat to match. Both carried bouquets. The Rev. Mr Macdonald, of Otautau, officiated, and m a very short space of time joined both couples m holy matrimony. The singing of the ohoir and the sweet music rendered reminded older ones who were present of bygone days. After the ceremony the friends and relatives of the happy couples adjourned to Mrs Dempster's and partook of a sumptuous wedding breakfast, after which the happy couples left by the afternoon train for their honeymoon, amidst showers of rice.
