Wallace Hospital Trust.
The monthly meeting of the Wallace Hospital Trust was held on Thursday, the 3rd inst.; present, Messrs John Fraser (chairman), Lyle, Stevens, McKay, and Bain. The Surgeon • Superintendent reported as follows : — Mai. Fern. Remaining from previous month 14 2 Admitted during month . . 10 4 Discharged . . . . 9 2 Deaths . . . . 2 0 Remaining . . 13 4 Out-patients treated .. 12 3 Donations of books and papers were received with thanks from Mesdames Lyle and Ha^kworth. Miss Dundas, and Mr Saunders. The crmirman reported that an ambulance wairgon had been ordered from Messrs Bath and Son, Invercargill, the cost to be £115.— Approved. Mr McKay reported on a visit he had made to the institution during the month, and, on h's suggestion, it was decided to have a screen placed m the male and female wards to prevent draughts ; to have the trees near the ga'den cut down ; to procure two dozen chart holders ; and to have specifications prepare! for sinking a new well, for which tenders will be called. Accounts amounting to £144 4s 7d were passed for payment. The following tenders for supplies were accepted : — Meat, A. Mears ; groceries, T. and S. Bailey; bread, M. D. rlark and J. Hislop ; milk and butter, J. McNaughton ; coal, 0. E. Johnstone; firewood, Donald McKay ; medical comforts, J. Petcbell ; drugs, T. W. Blomfieid.
