CLEARING SALES.
The National Mortage Company hays to report holding a successful clearing sale o*i Tlmysday 18$h. inst.. on behalf of Mr H. J. Alley* Qreti Plains, Despite the previous inclement weather, the attendance of farmers acid others was good, and full prices were realised for all the lines offered. Mr Alley brought ' horses out m splendid nick, andth.ey netted good prices; as follows :— Bloss, 3 year-old mare £42 ; Nut, 3-year-bld mare, €35 10s ; Crip, 3-year-old mare, '£33 ; while 2 yearling fillies went at £25 . apieoe. The cows, considering the time of the.year, gold well from £3 5s to £5 7s 6d, a line of springing heifer? going at £3 5s per head.. s"he sound ewes fetched from l^ft.te, J9s 6gd, while implements were qlcajpeA at market values. Owing to the numerous lots offered, it was after dark before the final lot offered. fou^ ar new owner* The sheep were m th.c best oi order, but m common with other- sales, prices were not so good as those ruling a few months ago. They sold as ; follows :— IOO 4-tooth ewes at 24s 6d, 250 6-tooth ewes at 203, 300 8-tojth ewes at 16s 5d and 100 full-mouth ewe 9at 13s 10d.
