HIGH SCHOOL SPORTS

SPLENDID ENTRIES EXCELLENT STANDARD The excellent control and despatch and sound organisation which has always been associated with the Annual High School Sports was again evident yesterday when a full programme, with increased entries in most events was carried through to schedule. The attendance of parents and supporters was a little disappointing although quite a good crowd was present in the afternoon . Invariably close finishes were witnessed in most events, with great competition between the two houses, Tainui and Arawa, the competitors receiving tremendous encouragement from their schoolmates- At 2.30 p.m. Tainui were ahead in points. Well-stocked stalls and the refreshment booths did brisk business throughout the day and it is expected that the scho,)l funds will benefit considerably. A full report will appear next issue.
