R.A.0.8. LADIES' NIGHT
LARGS ATTENDANCE ENJOYABLE EVENING Opunake R.A.08, members entertained their wives and friends at another most enjoyable ladies' uight he'd in -SiPatrick's Hall on Wednesd.i / evening and the large gathering thoroughly appreciated the programme and entertainment provided. ■An evening of dancing with several excellent items were enjoyed, Smith's Orchestra providing lively dance music with appreciated extras supplied by MrD Muschanip (Hawera) and Mr. J). RichardsViolin "solos rendered by Mrs. 1). Coltart and vocal solos by Mrs. C. Ashworth were warmly applauded, while a Maori item by Mr- M. Karena was also very popular. Mr- Richards acted as accompanist. A dainty supper was also served buffet style, members handling their "unaccustomed" duties (including washing up) quite creditably. Novelty dances were won by Mr. M. Luckin and Mrs. F. Maindonald Jnr- (spot waltz) and Mr- L. Northcott and Mrs. R. Bennett (Dutch Monte Carlo). Mr. R. Bennett was M.C-
A short meeting of the lodge was held before the social aid routine lodge business was Attended to, Bro. H. Shields, CP. presiding over a good attendance of members.
