MONTHLY MEETING EGG DRIVE The usual meeting was ! eld with a good attendance. Members contributed many dozens of eggs for the annual drive for children's homesGifts were also brought for ike leper appeal, and many articles of house linen were to be sent to the W.D-E.F. rest home at Palmerston North- A letter was read from the Lord Mayor of London thanking the Opunake branch for food parcels. Competitions resulted: — Bloom: Mrs. To.btnd and Mrs. Petty equal 1, Mrs. Julian % Mrs. Watt and Mrs- Allan equal 3rd. Tulip: Mrs. Allan 1, Mrs. Holmes 2, Mrs. Petty 3. Shrub: Mrs. Tosland 1, Mrs. Holmes 2, Mrs- Allan 3A talk was given, by MrsGray, Eltham, on life and .uistonis in Sweden. It was illustrated by photographs of towns and country, magazines in the Swedish language and samples of embroidered house and table linen. Mrs. Gray was dressed in Swedish, national costume and was presented with a bouquet.
