GROUMD DEVELOPMENT
FINANCIAL DIMVE The recreation ground development and Improvement Committee together with finance committee members held a meetwig on Thursday evening in the Bowlin p' Club’s social rooms. The chairman, Mr. C. G. Jackson presiding. Several apologies were icceived.
The appointment of Mr. E, S. Barraclough as tne council representative Was confirmed in a letter from the Borough Council. *The chairman advised that 02 citizens had agreed to guarantee the finance of the development woik planned for this year, and intimated that a start on preparing the specifications for calling of tenders would be made by toe engineer during the week-end. The personnel of the finance committee was approved as follows : Messrs. TL Riley. K. Somervell, I. Elgar. C. Iteheley, N. Sorenson, A. E. Reynolds, P. Panford, G. Potts and S. Humphrey. Several suggestions for raising the necessary finance were discussed and adopted, the members displaying keeness to make an immediate start.
It was decided to ! hold a card and sports night in the Masonic Hall on Friday next, and all arrangements were finalized. The next meeting was fixed for Thursday 26th.,’at Kleeman and Bishop Ltd., at 7.30 p.m.
