OPUNAKE RED CROSS

MONTHLY MEETING MRS. WATT HONOURED 'I lie monthly meeting of the Opunake Red Cross sub-centre was held at Ihe rooms on Wednesday. The president, Mrs. I. N. Watt presided over a good Ittendance of members. Several apologies were received. 0 pairs of pyjamas had been hnnded in completed by the Rebekah Ledge and several articles of clothing 1 are now ready for packing. The following members volunteered to puck the N garments : Mesdantes Dobbin, Hammond, Fazackerley and Watt. Mrs. Watt was congratulated by members on being elected to "•erve on the Dominion Executive of the N.Z. Red Cross Society.

The packers for • the August food parcels are Mesdames o'Sullivan, Hewson, Baylis and McLaughlin. The secretary was. aske.d.-.i.Q write thanking Mr. T. Knapman for his donation of printed calico food parcel addresses. .

Owing to continued ill-health Mrs. S. Hutchen relinquished her position as secretary and Mis. R. B. Bowman A\as appointed. The president sincerely thanked Mrs. F. Kerr, who is shortly leaving the district, for her great interest and willing work as a member of the Opunake branch and on behalf of members wished her every success and happiness in her new home.
