ANNUAL MEETING INTAKE DECREASE The total butterfat intake of the Pihama Dairy Company .showed a decrease of 3 per cent, in the 1947-48 season, stated the report.of the chairman, Mr. J. S. Tosland, at the annual meeting at Pihama on Saturday. The intake of fat for cheese decreased by 2.9 per cent., for butter by 12. T per cent., while the fat for whey butter increased by 3.7 per cent.

The cheese make for the season fell by 43 tons, 14,484 crates being- exported against 15,083 crates in the previous season. Creamery butter made decreased by 17 tons, and the production rf whey butter increased by three tons.

The total payments for the 1947-48 season would he 2T.3229d to suppliers for cheesemaking, 25.4663 dto suppliers of home separation cream and 24.4199 d to whey cream suppliers. The.retiring directors, Messrs. C. R.. Julian and A. McHannigan were re-elected. Mr. G. Drought wag elected to fill the place of Mr. P. J. O’Sullivan who did not seek re-election. Mr. E. K. Buttermaking: Butterfat, 210,0241bs (240,830115 s); average butterfat test, 39.48 (40.04); butter made, 557,0861bs (295,3791b5); average grade of butter, 92.617 (92.931); cream grade percentages, finest 62.21 (79.161; first 04.97 (20.41); second 2.81 (.41); total costs, to’f.o.b., 3.53 (2.50), Whey butter: Butterfat recovered from whey expressed as a percentage of total butterfat received for cheesemaking, 6.38 16.39); whey butter made, 229,7041bs (223,2T21b5); average grade 88.411 (88.237).
