OPUNAKE BRANCH JAM SUGAR SHORT Mrs. Julian presided over a good attendance at the March meeting. A letter of thanks for a food parcel was received and arrangements made for the dispatching of the March parcel. It was agreed to donate a Spinning wheel to C.0.R.5.0. A delegate to the conference at Dunedin in July will be appointed later. On the -motion of Mrs. "Watt," it was decided to send an emphatic protest to the Minister of Supply, the Hon. A. H. ISTordmeyer, that no further jam sugar has been released. A talk sent out by Massey Col-,, lege, on soap and soap making was read by Mrs. Watt. Competitions resulted: Best.annual: Mrs. Julian Ist., Mrs. Petty 2nd., Mrs. Allan and Mrs. Holmes equal 3rd.

Best perennial: Mrs. -Holmes Ist,, Mrs. Petty 2nd., Mrs. Allan and Mrs. Bevan equal 3rd.
