MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS
WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 19 CANED)TIES’ POLICY The Opunake Junior Chamber of Commerce Candidates are facing the Electors with a vigorous policy for the better Municipal Management of the affairs of Opunake and invite all Electors to come and hear them expound their views on Tuesday, 18tb November at 8 p.m. in the Drill Hall. In seeking your support these men are confident of their ability to safeguard your interests and to pursue a policy of progress tempered with sound financial judgement and judicious management.
If their 12 point programme is reviewed it will be noted that there is no claim in it to do more than is reasonably possible with a rate comparable to the presentrate. What these men are endeavouring to do on your behalf is hut to enthuse some action into the Borough Council and with your support on polling day this Council will for the next three years show its capabilities and vision to the advancement of Opunake. It is undoubtedly the perogative of any citizen to criticise the administration of civic affairs but too often it is found that such ciiticism is destructive and negative rather than constructive and positive. This team conies forward with positive and constructive criticism. They face you with an honesty of purpose and a belief that with your support they could do the task which lies before them. No Ratepayer or Elector need have any fears that if elected these men will run riot or bankrupt the Borough. They are all ratepayers and all men who have permanently settled in Opunake, who but ask the chance to do their best for your benefit.
Their ideas are progressive, their ideals are the highest, their integrity is unquestioned. All that now remains to advance Opunake is your vote on polling; day. Vote the Taycee Ticket. Yote Progress. Yote for a policy that you know beforehand. Yote for the younger men. Yote advance Opuuake. Remember the names; Barraclough, Burton, Brennan, Hume, McGaugh’ey and Morris. Further announcements will •'"’'■ear in the Opuuake Times. — P.B.A. ’
