COUNTRY FOOTBALL

(To tlie Editor) Sir—On attending- a Queen Carnival football club meeting at Opunake, we beard .such a big song from a little man about our country teams not getting much of a hearing in our daily papers, and I agree with him up to a point. But I must draw the attention of this same little gentleman and also your readers to a report appearing in your paper, August 2fT. “Juniors Success. Fine back display. Opunake Juniors outclass Taumaranui Juniors.” Not - even' mentioning the Pihama and Oaonui teams, which I presume helped. Yours, etc., Country Supporter. (We would refer our correspondent to the issue of Tuesday, 19th., when ’the team selected was published .... Front Eow, Pope (Op), Segar (P), Kurriger (Oao) . ... , and to the reference in the issue of Friday,- 22nd .... The Opunake Junior fifteen, selected from Opunake, Oaonui and Pihama clubs leaves today .... We would be foolish not to credit our readers with a. certain amount of imagination.—Ed.)
