ANNUAL BALL
OPUNAKE D.H.S, RECORD ATTENDANCE On the occasion of the Annual Ball of the O.D.H.S. the Opuuake Town Hall was packed to its capacity, there being an attendance of about 500. An unus-. ual and effective scheme of decorating based on musical instru- ■> merits had been planned by Miss Peick and carried out by the craft classes of the lower forms. An excellent programme was carried through by the M.C.’s Murray Hickey and Dan Holmes. The novelty dances were won by Miss Dawn Sorenson and Mr. B. McCullum, Miss V. Gilhooly and Mr. D. Wright (Monte Carlo) and Miss S. Watson and Mr. G. Clement (Lucky Spot.) Tlie supper, which was provided by the parents of the pupils assisted by the cooking classes in the charge of Miss Hickey, was served by the girls of tne school under the supervision,of Dorothy Fordyce. . Fennell’s orchestra provided the music and extras were played by Miss M. Gilhooly, Miss J. Field and Dereck Roach.
