BRANCH MEETING “AID TO CHINA” There was a fair attendance at the August meeting, which w-as presided over by Mrs. IT. White. Mrs. F. Young and Mrs. K. Young were welcomed as new members. Two members, Mrs. J. Dalton Sup., and Mrs. T. Yeates, have left the district. The combined dance, W.D.F.F. and Federated Farmers and Young Farmers Club held in Opunake in July proved a great success. A combin'ed shop-day with the Opunake branch for the Corso Appeal “Aid to China” was arranged for August 25th. Those packing overseas parcels were Mesdames A. Harvey, C. Stronge, J, Stronge and H. White, A review of Conference rveek was given by one of our delegates Mrs. Perimona. Competition winners were:— Hostess competition: Mrs. J. Stronge. Eggless Cake: Mrs. A. Harvey Ist., Mrs. C. Stronge 2nd., Mrs, C. Pentelow 3rd, Best Bloom: Mrs. F. Tilley Ist., Mrs. C. Pentelow 2nd., Mrs. A. Harvey 3rd. Best Shrub:’ Mrs. C. Stronge Ist., Mrs. C. Pentelow 2nd., Mrs. Pirimona 3rd. Hostesses w-ere Mesdames Knrigar and G. McQuaig.
