Unfit for Service
Here is one for those boys who appeal like anything against having to join up with the forces. A South Australian hurdle race jockey told two Victorian medical examiners that he was unfit for service, but failed to convince them. To prove that lie was not a malingerer the rider obtained a certificate from the South Australian Jockey Club, which showed that in seven accidents there he had sustained a finaetured claivMe, concussion, fractured skull, traumatic haemothorax, fractured tibia, and fistula. This took no account of several accidents in otner S' 2l !- 68, It seems that he would have been safer in the Army all along.
