Third Grade Team.—

The following players will represent the Opunake thirds to play Rahotu at the. Opunake Domain tomorrow, commencing at 1.15 p.m. sharp: Smith, Croad. White, Hohaia. Robson, Corkill, Hewson, McKenzie, Gadsby, Richards, Olliver, Byars, Hands, de Castro. Hickey. Emergencies; Bailey- Langlands, Koithcott. Hodson. High School Rugby.— In view of the fact that the two inter-house games in the fifth grade Rugby competition at the Opunake District High School have milted in victories for both Arawa and Tainui, if has been decided to conduct another full 15-a-side match at the school ground tomorrow. Mr. -T. Trotter will be tin* referee, and the game will commence at 1.15 p.m.

Sympathy Expressed. — Opportunity was taken at the meeting of the Opunake Borough Council last night to convey to Cr. H. G. Davey a vote of condolence in the loss of his father. Cr, Davey was absent from thd last council meeting on this account, and last night His Worship the Mayor, Mr. A. J. Brennan, on behalf of members, expressed deep sympathy with him in his loss, the councillors standing in silence as a mark of respect. On behalf of members of the family, Cr. Davey replied, expressing thanks. Children at Show. — Accommodation on the special train which was run from Opnnake to Hawera on Wednesday in connection with the winter show and the representative Rugby match was well-filled. Most of the passengers were pupils of the Opunake District High School, where a special holiday was declared, and some of the children were accompanied by fheir parents. For the girls, the show was the principal attraction, but, among the spectators at the football match there was a large number of local boys.
