A record year of service and success AVas reviewed at the annual meeting of the Presbyterian Ladies’ Guild at Awatuna on Wednesday evening, Avhen the Rev. G. Wood presided OA’er an attendance comprising Mesdnmes Farqubar (2), McCarvison, Hughes, Bailey, Thompson, McClellan, Munro and Wood. The membership of the guild was twenty, and nine meetings were held during the year. Chief efforts were the bazaar, which realized £36-15/5, garden party -£B-8/6, and harvest festival £ll- - Farewells Avere given to Mi ss -T. Kerr.and Mrs. A. Kruse, j and Mrs. T. -T. Ooxhead was avolcomed home again. Of the sum of £59 rnis-vl daring the year, £53-4/3 w.i' nan! to the church funds. TO' la’’'--.-Avere wnrmlv congratulated bv the chairman on their snlendid contribution to the church, and were thanked ter their interest. Lantern Lecture The ReA*. J. M. McKenzie, assistant director of Missions. Avas introduced, and gave a lecture on China, illustrated I>a- lantern slides, Avhich enthralled an audience that almost filled the church. He was warmly thanked at Ihe close, and a splendid offering Avas received for mission funds. Presentation After auppQij opportunity was taken to bid iareAvell to Mr. and Mrs. 11. McLellan, old settlers of the district and staunch supporters of the church. A posy was presented on behalf of the ladies by Miss Mary Graham. After thanking the honoured members for their service, the Rev*. G. Wood presented to Mr. and Mrs. McLellan a beautiful tea set, with the best of wishes for the future. Mrs. G. Wood, on behalf of the ladies’ guild, presented Mrs. McLellan with a

fine cake-dish. Mr. and Mrs. McLellan rein med thanks for t!ie -rifts, and .yave an invitation for all to visit them in the new home near Normanhy.
