Humour at Football. —
A genuine laugh was contributed at the Domain on Saturdav by a junior player when the Opuuake and Rahotu football teams took the field after the interval. At that time, heavy rain was fall mg, and the player, taking possession of a large electric light shade used on the floodlights at the ground, adapted it as a nove 1 but somewhat inadequate head gear. Indoor Bowls. — A sport, which at the moment is enjoying great popularity throughout South Taranaki was re-introduced in Opunake last evening, when representatives of the Manchester Unity Lodge and of the Independent Order of Oddfellows participated in indoor bowling. Equipment for the sport is available in Opunake. and it is considered possible that interest may be developed to such a degree that regular competition among various organisations may be instituted. The problem •>f securing a suitable hall also should be solved when the new -Itil-shed is comnleted.
