CHURCH FUNDS BENEF9T FUNCTION AT PIHAMA A most successful Gardeu Party in aid of Presbyterian Church funds was held on Wednesday under ideal conditions, at the residence of Mrs. Alan Campbell, “Sea View,” Pihamu. The setting was perfect and the lawn and the. gardens delightful. A marquee was used ns a Tea Kiosk and an awning sheltered the stalls Visitors were present from Awatuna, Te Kiri, Opunake and a splendid company from Piliama. The gathering was a happy one, affording pleasure to all. Various competitions were held and won by Mrs. R. Malcolm, Mrs. A. Allan, Miss Peggy Templeton and Mrs. G. Wood, Mrs. D. Allan, Mrs. A. Campbell, Mrs. G. Wood and Miss M. Allan being in charge of same. The stalls did excellent business being in the capable hands of Mesdames A. Allan, J. S. Tosland, D.. Holmes and C. if. Bathgate. The hostess was in charge of the afternoon tea assisted by church people and guild members. Thus ended another typical Pihama event.
