CAPE EGMONT GOLF
CLOSING DAY HELD TROPHIES PRESENTED Under ideal weather conditions the closing day of the Cape Egmonf Golf links was held on Saturday afternoon. Mixed foursomes over nine holes were played, while approaching and putting competitions were held. The winners of the competitions were as follows:
Mixed foursomes: Miss Cooper and L. Beardmore 46—13—33.
Ladies’ Approaching: Mrs Sykes (New Plymouth). Ladies’ Putting: Mrs A. J. Brennan.
Men’s Approaching: Mr A Thorne.
Men’s Putting: Mr R. B. Fleming. Presentation of Trophies,
After tea had been served" and the competitions finalised, Mr R. B. Fleming, president, welcomed the visitors present. He remarked on the successful season experienced, and expressed thanks to Mr Kelly for the use of his property. He then called on Mrs Harte, lady captain, to present the trophies won during the year which were as follows:
Tahoma Cup.—Mr and Mrs K. P. Tompkins. Men’s Senior Championship.— Mr K. P. Tompkins. Moss Cup.—Mr K. P. Tompkins.
Junior Championshhip.—Mr L Beardmore.
Men’s Trophy, 3G holes.—Mr L. Beardmore.
Ladies’ Senior Championship— Miss Betty Fleming. Ladies’ Junior Championship— Mrs P. Brennan.
Gray Cup—Mrs A. J. Brennan Trophy, 3G holes. —Mrs E. H Gray.

MEN DEFEAT WOMEN
The annual match between the women and the men of the Cape Egmout Golf Club was held on the links at Pungarehu at' the week-end, the men winning by four games to three, one ending all square. Details are: —
Mrs A. J. Brennan and Mrs E. H. Gray beat R. B. Fleming and E. H. Gray 4 and 3. Miss B. Fleming and Miss M. Brophy lost to T. Brophy and L. Beardmore 4 and 3. Miss C. Brophy and Miss N. Fleming all square with B. Brophy and Father Gerrahy. Miss E. Fleming and Miss PSmith beat L. Herdmau and J. Harte 3 and 2. Miss I. Gray and Mrs P. EBrennan beat M. O’Neijll and P. Brophy 8 and 7. Miss 0. Cooper and and Miss L. Gilhooly lost to A. J. Brennan and A. Grant 4 apd 3. Miss N. Doody and Mrs Priest lost to -T. W. Priest and another 2 down. _ . Mrs Kelly and Mrs T. Brophy lost to P. C. Smith and P. LBrennan 1 down.
