FIRST ROUND OF CHAMPIONSHIPS The first round of the senior and junior championships of the Cape Egmont Golf Club was played during the week-end. Following are the results: — Men's Senior First Round. A. Roots won from T. Brophy by default.
R. B. Fleming defeated B. Brophy 7 and 6. Men's Junior Fir^Round, L. Beardmore defeated T. Kir*. G and 4.
Women's Senior Fiist Round. Miss B. Fleming defeated Mrs Bennet 4 and 3. Mrs E. H. Gray defeated Miss E. Fleming 4 up and 3. Women's Junior.
Miss M. Simmons defeated Miss Avlward 2 and'l.
Miss C. Brophy defeated Mrs J. Aylward 8 and 7. Miss P. Stempa defeated Mrs P. L. Brennan 6 and 4. Miss P. Fleming defeated Miss M. Brophy 1 up at the 19th. Miss N. Doodv won from Miss V. Cooper by default. Miss P. Smith won from Miss N. Fleming by default.
