TARANAKI AND AUCKLAND

THE FIELDS REVIEWED

Turf enthusiast will have plenty of sport during the Christmas and New Year holidays. There will be the Taranaki Jockey Club’s meeting at New Plymouth on Monday and Tuesday next and the Stratford Racing-Club’s meeting on the following Monday and Tuesday. 1-or both these meetings special trains will run and it is expected that there, will be a large attendance oi people Loin all pnrts of Taranaki.

Auckland will also hold high carnival and during the holidays there will be four days’ racing at Ellerslie and four days’ trotting at Epsom. Flags will be flying at New Plymouth, Elicrslie, Palmerston North, Waipukurau and numerous plaow in the South Island. Taranaki sports will be mostly interested in New Plymouth, Auckland and Manawatu.
