WEDDING
111 CEE Y—SHORE. A very pretty wedding took place C ; on June Id, at Croydon (N.Q.) when Mr * Clarence Hickey, of New Zealatid, was joined in the holy bonds of matrimony ' to Miss Annie, youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs J. G. A. Shore, of Cray- j don. Miss Dorothy Jewell presided at the organ, and played “The Voice that breathed o’er Eden” as the bride entered the church on the arm of her father. The Church was nicely decorated by friends of the bride and bridegroom. The bride, who was given ( away by her father, wore a pretty ; frock of white mariette with overdress of bridal lace caught at the sides with orange blossoms, looked very charming in her veil, which was prettily handembroidered and daintily arranged with a coronet of orange blossoms. The bridal bouquet consisted of white chrysanthemums and asparagus fern arranged with bows of white ribbon. The duties of the bridesmaids were carried out by Miss Alvina Reese, : who was chief bridesmaid —she wore a pretty frock of champagne georgette daintily trimmed with frills to match, carrying a wand draped with champagne and pale blue streamers finished with sprays of forget-me-nots; Misses Dorrie Rains, Blanche Grittner and Vera Rains wore dainty frocks of princess blue georgette and carried lemon baskets of band made flowers arranged with asparagus fern. The bridesmaids also wore coronets to match their respective frocks. The bridegroom was attended by Messrs. R. Wylie and Geo. Reese. At the conclusion of the ceremony the bridal party motored to • the home of the bride’s parents, where a reception was held. The table which was nicely decorated and well furnished accommodated a large number of guests, who after honouring the various toasts spent a very enjoyable evening. Mrs Shore received her guests, wearing a dress of grey crepe-de-chene with champagne trimmings. The bridegroom’s present to the bride was a gold wristlet watch whilst the bride’s pres--1 ent to the bridegromm was a complete travelling outfiit. The bridesmaids presents were of xylonite-ware. Pres- ' ents to the bride and bridegroom were ’ costly and numerous, including substantial cheques. Recent rains resulting in uncrossable rivers were un- ' fortunately responsible for detaining the newly married couple, who left by ! car on Monday morning for Sydney, | where Mr and Mrs Hickey will in V future reside--Croydon News.
