Tennis.
The local tennis players visited Manaia on Saturday last and met a atrong team selected from the Manaia Olub. Opnnake experienced difficulty in getting a team together and were unfortunate in losing We services of several of its leading men players. It was also notioeab e throughout the contests the visitors were unable to strike form on the grass courts. v It was a one sided game, but never- y fheleM one of the most enjoyable matches yet played between the team At the conclusion of the day s pi"/ Mr Knell, on behalf of the visitors, congratulated Manaia on its victory, and also- thankad the members f« the very hospitable way iU| wbicn they had been treated. In reminding, Mr Taylor that Manaia intended, at an early date, returning the visit when no doubt a much o’oser game would eventuate. .
