NEW ZEALAND LOAN AND MERCANTILE. WEEKLY MARKET REPORT. . Auckland, August 30. Horses : At the Durham Yards on Friday, we had an average yarding of horses, the demand being good throughout. We quote : Heavy draughts sold at from £2B to £4O 10s; medium do. £lB 153 to £35 ; light harness, £7 15s to £lB 5s ; hacks, £5 5s to £22; weeds, £2 10s to £B. Cattle : At the Newmarket Yards on Tuesday dairy and store stock were penned in average numbers and sold at late rates. Ox beef sold up to 24s and cow 19s to 22s per 1001 b ; steers sold at from £5 15s to £lO 17s 6J; cows, £4 10s to £7 10s Od ; dairy cows sold at from £4 10s to £8 15s ; empty do., £1 15s to £3 10s Od ; calves £1 Is to £2 Bs. Sheep were yarded in average numbers at the Newmarket Yards on Tuesday, and competition was fairly keen Wethers sold at from 16s 9d to £1 13a Od ; ewes 15s 9d to £1 Os 9d. Hoggets sold at from 10a 6d to 15s Od. Pigs: Porkers sold at from 18s to £1 17s 6d; weaners, 7s 6d to 18s; baconers, £2 Is to £3 12s. Potatoes : Worth £l2 10s and are on the advance. Chaff: Worth £4 15s to £5. Oats : 2s l£d, c.i.f. Butter. Market very firm. Prime separator, 9d to lid; good 101 ; poorer qualities, 7£d.
