Mesara Nolan, Tonks, and Co.’s Stock Report. Cattle. —Owing to Tuesday being St. Patrick’s Day, and the counter attractions of Stratford races and Okato sports, I held my usual Waiwakaiho sale on Wednesday. Postponed sales are seldom a success, and Wednesday’s sale was no exception to the ‘ rale/’there being a small muster of stock ard few buyers. Calves made 24s to 82a.6d, yearlings 39s to 49s 6d, 15 months Holstein heifers £2 15s, fat cows £5, cows in calf £4 to £5, 2 to 8 year steers £4 11s to £5 14s. At; Stratford,; on Thursday, I held a clearing sale on account of Mr E. Ellis. There was a good attendance, and, the cows, being a good lot, were all well competed for. Cows in milk made £6 to £lO, the whole herd aver : aging £7 15s Bd, a very satisfactory figure, considering the time of the year. Springers £9 ss, one bull £2, spring-trap mare and foal £BS 10s, heifer calves 88s, steer do. 88s 6d, sows in farrow £4 6s, 2 to 2£ year heifers £5 2s 6d to £6. 5 Land.—On Thursday I held a sale ar of the unsold portion of the Whiteley township. Most of the Sections fronting the South Road, and one of the large sites at the corner of Devon and Calvert roads met with fair competition, prices in several cases being considerably in excess of the upsets. P o!| the ; bkqfc; sections, however (a good many which were more or less broken), were not so much sought after, and several of these were passed in, but eventually were nearly all disposed of at upset prices.
