London, October 29. Obituary Professor Max-Muller, setat 76. [The Eight Hon. Friedrioh MaxMuller, P. 0., K.M., M.A., LL.D., D.C.L., Corpus Professor of Comparative Philology, Oxford, was born at Dessau, Germany, in 1823. Pie was the elilest son of the post Wilhelm Mulkr, and wai educated at Dessau and Leipsic, atid the universities of Leipsic and Berlin. He was a commander of the Leyion of Honor, honorary LL.D., Edinburgh. Cambridge, Bologna, Dublin, and Buda-Pesth, and a member of ma-iy of the foreign orders. As an authority on Sanskrit he was without peer. By his death the literary world loses one of its bright particular stars.] Sydney, October 29.
