That the newspapers of the world are using up the forests for their supplies of paper is a well-known fact, but there are probably few people who will not be startled at the announcement made by one of the chief New Tori? papers that its Sunday Easter number wpuld take all the wood of 40 acres of virgin forest. This journal claims to use in its paorning and evening editions some eleven ftcres of woodland, producing about 7000 feet fo the acre.
