Meeting of Householders.
The annual meeting of householders was held in the schoolroom last evening, when about 30 were present, Mr Geo. W. .Rogers being in the chair. The report of the outgoing committee was read and adopted. The Inspector’s report was also read. The following were then, nominated for the committee for the ensuing year ;—Messrs J. M. McDavitt, proposed by Mr C. McGregor and seconded by Mr R. Pepperill, D. McSweeney (D, McGregor-Dos Forges), W. Birch (Cooper - Stitt), W. Taylor (Cooper-0. McGregor), D. McDonald (0. McGregor-D. McGregor), D. McGregor (Christie-Siitt), J. Stitt (0. McGregor-D. McGregor), A. Elgar (Callander -D. McGregor), K. Y. Breach (D. McGregor-C. Hickey), E, C. Middleton (Goopsr-Rutherford), J, J. Cummins (Ohristie-McDonald). As only seven members were required a ballot was taken, with the following result: Messrs Birch 28, McDavitt 22, D. McGregor 22, McDonald 14, Breach 14, Taylor 13, E, 0. Middleton 13, Cummins 18, Stitt 12, Elgar 8, McSweeney 8. As there were three who polled 18 the names were drawn as to who should stand out, which fell to Mr Cummins, and the first seven were elected. Mr Birch thanked them for placing him at the head of the poll, and hoped they would be able to give a good account of themselves this time next year. COMMITTEE MEETING. At the above meeting held subsequently Mr D. McGregor was elected chairman. (McDohald-Breach.) Mr McDavitt was appointed secretary and treasurer. (Breach-Mc-Gregor.) Mr McGregor thanked them for fcha position, and hoped they would ail work amicably together. * The next meeting was fixed for Monday, May 9th.
