A Bill prohibiting public football matches under heavy penalties haa been passed by the Georgia Legislature. A similar measure is being considered by the Chicago City Council, and other legislative bodies throughout the country threaten action against the " dangerous " game. Since the present seaBon opened (says the New York correspondent of the London Daily Mail) three well-known players have been killed and 15 crippled for life. The newspapers are receiving hundreds of letters declaring that American football is more dangerous, demoralising, and brutal than prize-fighting.
