A Chapter of Accidents.
(By our Travelling Correspondent.)
On Saturday last a Maori and his wife were driving to Paribaka in a sulky which they had just newly acquired, and when between Oakura and Tapuae the springs gave way and the body parted company with the under carriage, precipitating the occupants on to the road. Fortunately neither were hurt, exeept in their feelings when they surveyed the wreck.
Another Maori was driving a brake with three horses, when coming down the Oakura hill lie got his wheels into the water table, when one of the wheels collapsed, On the same day Mr Wadsworth was driving a five horse team near Tapuae when one of the horses fell down. The chain broke and the wheels of the brake passed over the the horse which died in about five minutes.
