.«. Wellington, November 14. Justice Edward has made an order for the examination of the Minister of Justice in the Mills libel action against the Cbristchurch Press and the Otago Daily Times by the Registrar of the Supreme Court here. The trial is fixed for November 26, at Blenheim. Charles Silbon pleaded guilty of the theft of £lO, and was remanded. James Houghan was convicted of indecent assault on a child, and remanded for enquiry as to his mental condition. He had been in the asylum some years ago. Philpott, who is accused of Hawthorne's murder, pleaded guilty to a charge of forgery and false pretences. The judge commented on the fact that there were several previous convictions, and sentenced prisoner to three years hard. The Grand Jury may possibly be adjourned to Thursday, and Philpott brought before a magistrate in the interval, to enable the murder case to be taken this session. It is understood the accused himself is desirous to have it come on as soon as possible. "
