Fatal Accident.

(By Telegraph.) Manaia, This day. James Tait, about 21 years of age, a farmer on Skeet Road, was found dead at daylight this morning, lying crushed under a tree. Manning, his partner, returning to the farm about 7 last night, did not feel concerned about the absence of deceased until about nine, after finishing milking, when a search party was organised, and at daybreak this morning he was found very much mutilated. His body was in a crouching position, as though he had been pinned by a tree whilst running away. He was a member of the Mounted Rifles aud much respected. The funeral takes place at one to-morrow.
