Unregistered Racing Clubs.

A meeting of the delegates from unregistered racing clubs was held at Stratford on Thursday evening, the following clubs bbing represented : Kapor.ga, Te Roti, Okaiawa, Tarata, Toko, Strathmore and Stratford. Mr Stoddart (Kaponga) was voted to the chair, and Mr Canning was appointed seer fcary pro tern. The resolutionsadopted were : —That the clubs represented deem it advisable to form an association, to be known as the " District Racing Association " ; that all unregistered clubs in the Taranaki district be invited to nominate one member each to form a central association ; that the association meet in Stratford at 7.30 on the last Saturday in the month ; that any horse nominated for a registered meeting within nine months of any unregistered meeting cannot run at such unregistered meeting. The remuneration of the handicapper whs fixed at 5 per cent on stakes over £SO, with a minimum fee of £2 2s. Mr Crocker was elected handicapper. It was resolved that no pony be allowed to start unless the owner can produce a certificate of measurement from the haudicapper, such certificate to be good for 12 months from date of issue, except in the cases s of horses under four years. The fee for a jockey's license was fixed at 10s Gd, the fees t© be paid to the association. It was resolved that each affiliated club contribute £1 Is to the association; that protests be accompanied by £2, winch if not upheld shall, with fines, be paid to the association. The minimum weight for ponies and hacks was fixed at 7st, and hurdle racers 9st. Riding fees were fixed as follows : —ls per cent for winning mount in hurdles, 10s for a losing mount; flat races, 10 per cent for winning mount, with a minimum of 5s for a losing mount. It was resolved to charge bookmakers £2 2s for entry on a course. Three members of the committee were appointed a quorum, and the meeting then adjourned till the 28th inst.—Star.
