—♦ — Mr Newton King's Weekly Report. New Plymouth, July 22. Cattle at Stratford, on Tuesday, owing no doubt to the cold rough weather, few cattle coming forward, but nearly all were sold at about late values. Yearlings made 17s to 245; 18-month steers, 343 6d; springing heifers, £3 os to £4; springing cows, £3 to £3 to £4 7s 6d; cows in calf, £2 103 to £3 ss. Mr Belcher's clearing sale of dairy stock wa3 advertised for Wednesday at Cardiff. The weather, however, was terribly rough, the driving rain falling in torrents, and for the first time on record I had to postpone the sale. It will now be held wet or dry on Thursdas, 29th inst. At Waiwakaiho, on Thursday, there was a small muster. Calves made 15s 6d ; yearlings, 17s to 18.3; springing heifers, £3 Is to £3 15s; springing .cows, £3 to £5 7s ; store do., 27s 6d to 35s ; a gaod line of fat wethers made 12s 3d. Messrs F. R. Jackson and Co's Stock Report. Wangasui, July 21. A fair entry of stock came forward at St. Hill Street to-day. Bidding was on a par with late sales, and values were maintained. Pigs sold at last sale 3 rates. We quote:— Cattle—Pat bullocks, £4 14s to £5 17s ; fat cows, £2 16s to £3 7s; dairy cows, £3 to £5 7s 6d. Sheep—Medium fat wethers, 10s 6d ; fat ewes, 7s 7d; lambs, 4s lOd to 6s 6d; old ewes, 2s to 3s 7d. Pigs—Porkers, 16s to 22s ; small pigs, 3s 3d to 7s. JOHNSONVILLE, July 21. A full yarding of bullocks, sheep and pigs came forward. The cattle consisted of prime fat bullocks, forward stores, and a good line of fat cows. Cattle.—Bullocks made £6 7s 6d to £8 ; forward stores, £4 to £4 5s ; fat cows, £4 2s 6d to £4 12s 6d. Sheep.—Fat ewes, 9s 7d to 10s 6d ; fat and forward ewes, 7s lid to 8s 3d ; wethers. 10s 6d to 12s. At Stratford, on the 16th inst., a good number of stock came forward, mostly cowb and heifers in backward condition. The usual fortnightly sale was held at the Glovetßoad yards on Wednesday, 21st inst when the advertised number nf -stock came forward, consisting chiefly of fat bullocks, cows and forward steers. Although the attendance was large, bidding for most classes was.sluggish, with little or no enquiry for beef, Wc quote—At- Stratford—Dairy cows and heifers, £3 15s to £4 5s ; store cows, £1 7s to £1 17s Gd ; 12 to 15-month steers. £1 7s to £1 14s 6d ; weaners, 12s to 17s 6d. At Hawera—Fat bullocks, £4 15s to £5 3d ; forward do., £3 5s to £3 17s Gd ; 2 to 2£year steers, £2 10s to £2 17s 6d; heifers in calf, £2 2s 6d to £3 ss. Sheep—Ewes in lamb, mixed ages, 6s to 6s Bd. Messrs Hunter and Nolan's Report Auckland, July 1. Cattle wove brought forward in sufficient numbers for requirements. Fat and dairy stock was well represented, and stores indifferently so. At Newmarket on Tuesday the butchers' pens were fairly filled, selling at prices slightly in favor of vendors although not sufficient to advance quotations. Dairy stock were slightly highly in price; stores unaltered. We quote ox beef, 18s per 1001 b ; cows, 16s; fat cows, £4 5a to £8 ss; fat cows, £4 5s to £5 17a Gd. At Waiuku on Saturday there was a fair muster, and a good demand at fully Newmarket rates. Sheep were penned in moderate numbers at Newmarket on Tuesday ; wethers sold at from lis 6d to 15s Gd : ewes, Gs 9d to 10s Gd ; ewes in lamb, 8s Gd to 10s ; hoggets 7s 9d to 10s Bd. Pigs: Few yarded: light porkers sold at from 16s to £ll6s.
