Education Board.
The Education Board met on Wednesday. Present ;—Miss Hey wood, Messrs Bauchope (chairman), Fault, Wade, Adlam, Mackay, Hill, Allswortb, and Outfield. Leave of absence will be granted Air C. W. Field, of Oaonui, to attend the University examination, provided he finds a substitute to be approved by the Chairman of the Board. The Oaonui Committee is to be informed that the school at Ngariki was one established as an aided school for the teaching of the younger children iu the district, and as the householders are responsible for providing ail the necessary conveniences, which they agreed to do before the school was opened, the Board expects they will do so. Mr H. Eason, head teacher of the Opunake school, is to be transferred to Tariki as headmaster of the Tariki school, and Mr G. Heenan is to be transferred from the Tariki school to the head-mastership of the Opunake School ; such transfers having been agreed to by the respective Committees and teachers. The changes take place on Ist August. Mrs Chambers was appointed sewing teacher of the Warea school. Mr Adlam’s report on the Newall Road site was adopted, and a vote of thanks passed for the same.—Herald.
