NEW ZEALAND V. NEWCASTLE. Newcastle, July 15. The New Zealanders defeated tbe Northern Union by 16 points to 0. The match tvas a pour display of football, and for the greater part of the time the game was too slow to keep the men warm. Those who scored were: Armit, McKenzie (Wilson converted), Smith, Hancock (Wilson converted). Just before call of time the run of the day was made by Sharp, a local man, who was only brought to grass by Bayiy in the nick of time. A match between the Opunake and Rahotu boys was played at Rahotu on Wednesday, aud resulted in a win for the visitors by 12 points to nothing. Tries were obtained by G. King (2), I, Bishop, and W. Dudley.
