A Paris Sensation.
Paris, June 15. A great sensation was caused in France by an attempt upon the life of President Faure. He was driving to Longchamps to witness the race for the Grand Prix de Paris when a roughly made bomb was thrown from the standing crowd. It exploded close to the open carrirge in which President Faure was riding. Taking advantage of the excitement the would-be-assassin managed to make good his escape. Examination of the remains of the bomb disclosed the fact that the construction was such as to render it impossible to inflict serious harm.
