Accident to a Train.
Wellington, May 3. This morning, the down train from Wairarapa ran off the rails in the hills two miles north of the Eaitoke. A special had to be sent from the Upper Hutt to bring the passengers on to town. The accident happened through some of the rails on which the platelayers had been at work being loose. There were three passenger carriages, and all went off the line, the engine remaining fast. One of them was badly smashed, and the passengers got out through the roof. Most of the people on board were severely shaken, but apparently no one was seriously hurt, except one woman, whose shoulder was dislocated.
