RAHOTU.
(Our Own Correspondent.) The plain and fancy dress ball at Rahotu on last Friday evening in aid of the hall building fuud passed off very successfully, there being a good attendance. The room was not so crowded as on previous occasions which proved much more enjoyable for dancers although not so satisfactory from a financial poiut of view. First class music was supplied by Mr Knowles. The supper was well up to the mark, provisions being in abundance. Dancing was kept up till a late hour. The following are some of those who appeared in fancy dresses : —Miss K. Jeffries, " Sailor" ; Miss McCoy, " Florian Shepherdess,"; Miss Tyrell, " Bulgarian Peasant," ; Miss Morgan, " Fern " ; Miss Guy, " Shamrock " ; Miss Cassidy, " Queen of the Fairies " ; Miss Kelly, " Fan " ; Miss Simeon, " Neapolitan Peasant " Miss L. Simeon, " Dolly Varden " ; Miss M. Harrison, •' Tambourine "; Miss Wiley, " Arcadian Shepherdess"; Miss Coffey, "Neapolitan Shepherdess " ; Miss Coffey, " Neapolitan Fisherwife" ; Mrs Cassidy, " Sunflower " ; Mr Simeon, " Spanish Nobleman."
