MASSACRE OF 100 ARMENIANS. Constantinople, March 25. The Turks massacred one hundred Armenians at Tokat, and pillaged a bazaar. • The slaughter lasted eight hours. The Porte, at the request of the Embassies, dismissed three of the chief officials of the town. Sir Philip Currie protested in the strongest terms against the massacre. London March 26. The Standard states that telegrams are constantly passing with Constantinople with regard to the massacres. Constantinople, March 25. The Porte promises to take prompt measures to punish the perpetrators of the atrocitjes at Tokat. A special court is to be constituted to enquire into the massacres. The Embassies have warned the Porte that neglect to pnnish the offenders will bring serious results. The Governor of Adana, another town in Asiatic Turkey, has been dismissed. London, March 27. The Standard states that Tokat was selected as a place of massacre pursuant to the policy crush the Armenians in the populous centres. LABOR QUESTIONS. Melbourne, March 26. At the annual meeting of the Employers' Union the report deplored the fact that the Trades Hall had dropped the idea of strikes and were now going for factory legislation, curtailing the hours of labor, and fixing minimum wages rates, aud to so increase wages as to make this a working-man's paradise. It behoved employers to make strenuous efforts to prevent the labor party having its own way in this matter. This proposed compulsory arbitration was strongly condemned.
