The entries at Waverley and St. Hill Street were small and consisted mainly of sheep. Cattle were neglected, but sheep were well competed for. Pigs were rather lower in price than late sale, Cattle.—At St. Hill Street—lß month heifers, 33s to 37s ; yearlings, 18s to 225. Sheep.—At Waverley—Lambs, 2s 9d to 8s 6d; wether lambs, 3s 3d ; wethers, 7s to 7s 2d. At St. Hill Street—Forward wethers, 7s 2d to 7s 3d ; fat ewes, 5s 8d to to 7s ; old ewes, 2s sd. Pigs.—Small baconers, 26s ; porkers, 18s 9d to 16s 6d ; small pigs, 7s to 12s. Mr Newton King’s Weekly Report. New Plymouth, February 11. At Rahotu, on Tuesday, there was rather a small muster. Lincoln ewes brought from 10s to 14s 3d ; crossbred ewes, 8s 9d to 7s ; wethers, 5s 8d to 7s ; Lincoln ewes, £1 to £6 5s ; Romney rams, 31s to 35s ; Down rams, 21s to 445. At Remuera, on Thursday, fat cattle in average number, mostly heavy weight steers, brought an avero£ 19s 1001 b. Sheep in usual number were firm at last week’s quotations. Lambs in less than average supply were no better worth. Pigs in moderate number sold satisfactory.

The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, report under date London, 10th February : Wool.—The sales closed firmly this day. Since close of last sales superior washed and scoured merino are to Id per lb higher. Greasy merino superior and fine and medium greasy crossbred are £d per lb higher. Coarse greasy crossbred and greasy merino lambs superior are par to id per lb higher. Greasy washed and scoured merino medium and inferior and fine washed and scoured crossbred are par to £d per lb lower. Slips medium washed and scourtd crossbred and greasy crossbred lambs are par to id per lb higher. Oiher descriptions unchanged. The American demand is good. The total quantity sold during the past sales is 221,000 bales, of which 82,900 bales have been taken for the Continent, and 47.000 bales for America. It is estimated that 42,000 bales have been held over for luture disposal. Tallow.-—Market has a downward tendency. The Continental demand has increased. Medium and inferior multon tallow' is in demand, but fin; is neglected. London, January 11. The total quantity of wheat and flour afloat for the United Kingdom is 2.780.000 quarters, and for the Continent 510,000 quarters. The American visible wheat supply is estimated at 00,200,000 bushels. Yesterday’s wool sale show-ed a better tone, but prices are changed. London, February 13. The wool sales closed very brisk. The sale of good merinos and greasy crossbreds is espicialy firm. During the series 234,480 bales were catalogued, of which 93,000 w'ere sold for Home trade, 83,000 Continent,'and 45,000 American. 43,000 were held over for the Antwerp sales which open on the 10th inst and close on the 18th. The quantity available for sale is 87.000 bales, including 400 from Australia. At the wool sales Wainui clips realised 7|d t Arowhenua, BJd, Tepite 9|d, Mosgiel 7fd. The sales closed with prices firm all round. London, February 14. Frozen meat and hemp are unchanged. The English wheat market shows a weak tone, without any quotable change. The Continental is dull, and the American has a general decline.
