The Aorere Ashore.

Patea, February 10

The Aorere went ashore coming over the bar this afternoon. A strong southerly gale drove her aground on North Spit. The position is unfavorable.

Messrs Newman Bros, the local agents for the steamer received a wire yesterday to say that a 10 per cent average bad been levied over the cargo. There is a considerable quantity of Opunake cargo on board. Messrs Newman Bros having £SOO worth, besides that consigned to other shippers.
