Land Board.

The Land Board met on Monday. Present: The Commissioner (Mr Strauchon) ■ Messrs Kelly, Stock, Heslop and Boy. CAPITALISATION. H. J. Code’s application to capitalise and acquire the freehold of Section 14, Block 7, Egmont was agreed to. ACQUIBINO FREEHOLD. The following freeholds were applied for A. McKeown, Section 13, Block 13, Opunake; 8. Forsyth, Section 15, Block 2, Oeo; R. Lambie, Section 19, Block 2, B. Fleming, Section 30, Block 12, Cape ; C- Hills, Section 84, Block 1, Waimate; T. Harvey, Section 85, Block 12, Cape (d.p. lands); E. and F, Svsdling, Section 17, Block 7, Kanpokonui; J. Aitken, Section 81, Block 11, Opunake ; T. R. and G. M. Anderson, Section 26, Block 7, Kanpokonui (p.l. lands).—Agreed to. APPEAL. W. Harris appealed against the approval of the Board to the transfer of Section 10, Block 2, Opunake, from G. Gane to himself. —The Board decided that as the transfer has been made at the request of Mr Gane and,Mr Harris, as the transferee, the Board has no power to deal further with the matter. OPUNAKE. The D.O.A. stated that arrangements were made when the lease of subs. 7 and 8, Opunake Railway Reserve, was sold to W. Middleton for the transfer to be effected, but the matter had gone no further.—Failing payment of rent, the persons who were in occupation of the land will be sued for the same. The forfeiture of sub. 23, Eltham-Opunaks Railway Reserve, was cancelled, as the rent was paid before the resolution of forfeiture. SURRENDERS. The following surrenders were accepted : A. Falconer, Section 13, Block 11, OmonaWhennakura 5.5.,; H. H. Cole, Section 20, Eltbam-Opunake Railway Reserve. / OMATA. The case of the road line proposed to be sold to Messrs George and Honeyfield, at Omata, was sgairi considered.—The Board decided to recommend the Government to insert a clause in the next Reserves and Crown Lands Disposal and Enabling Act to validate the sale of this land and any other piece of land similarly situated. - PROPOSALS FOB EXPENDITURE. Proposals for expenditure of thirds accrued were submitted as follow:—Waimate Road Board, £342 Is 5d ; Moa Road Board,- £712 Is Id.—The thirds accruing from Section 10 Block 13, Waitara, are to be spent on Everett Road. The schedules were agreed to.—An application from Mrs H. B. Curtis, selector of Section 20, Block 12, Huiroa, that the thirds from that section be transferred from the Stratford Council to the Moa Road Board, was held over.—The proposals of the Manganui Road Board (£172 0s 3d) and the Hawera Council (£784 18s 9d) were also agreed to.—News.
