HAWERA. ELECTION.
(to the editor.) Sir,—l regret to find an impression current that I am a candidate for the Hawera seat only for the purpose of aiding Mr McGuires candidature as against Mr Robbins. A little reflection mn«t convince anyone that such is not t'n‘ r ise; as proving the contrary I fiai many electors are of opinion, that rather than helping Mr McGuire, my candidature will have the opposite effect; and some go as far as to express the opinion that my entering the field has quite destroyed any chance which Mr McGuire might have had. Those who know me best, will know that having become a candidate, I will leave little undone to secure the electors’ confidence and my return as their representative to Parliament. When addressing the electors I will be pleased to made any further explanation regarding this that may be required.—l am, &c., 0. E. Major.
